Adventure-Based Learning

Who says learning has to happen in a classroom? It happens halfway up a challenge, in the middle of a team huddle or right after a big cheer! Our school camps are packed with expertly facilitated activities that test balance, focus and quick thinking, while getting learners laughing, strategising and working together to crack every challenge.

Each session is carefully designed to stretch comfort zones in a safe, supervised environment. Learners leave with more confidence, stronger friendships, a healthy dose of resilience and plenty of stories to tell back at school.

GAMES, LAUGHS &
GOOD TIMES

Not every adventure needs a harness! Alongside the high-adrenaline challenges, our fun games are all about laughter, friendly competition and bringing everyone together. From fast-paced team games to relaxed lawn favourites, there's something to get every learner involved, whether they're the sporty type or just there for the giggles.

These light-hearted activities are perfect for breaking the ice, making new friends and strengthening existing bonds, all in a chilled-out riverside setting where learners can simply be themselves.

EXPLORE THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Set right on the banks of the Breede River, High Africa gives learners the chance to trade screens for fresh air, open skies and outdoor space to explore! Our nature-based experiences get learners out and about on the farm, discovering the beauty of the riverside environment while working together in teams.

Along the way, they learn to communicate, think on their feet and look out for one another, building teamwork, confidence and a genuine appreciation for the natural world around them.

A Safe & Supportive Environment

At High Africa, the safety and well-being of every learner come first. Our riverside property is managed by a team of professional, experienced facilitators trained in strict safety procedures and first aid suited to the river environment.

From carefully inspected equipment to on-site supervision and round-the-clock support, every detail is in place to ensure a safe, well-managed experience. This gives teachers and parents complete peace of mind while allowing learners to focus fully on personal growth, connection, and the unforgettable experience of a High Africa Adventures camp.

FAQ'S

Planning a school camp in the Western Cape? We've answered some of the questions teachers and parents ask us most often.

What ages are your school camps suitable for?

We host both primary and high school groups, and every programme is adapted to suit the age, energy levels and abilities of your learners. Younger groups enjoy fun, confidence-building challenges, while older learners can take on more demanding team and leadership tasks.

Where do teachers stay during the camp?

Teachers have their own separate accommodation at each camp, with private bathrooms, so they can stay close to their learners while still having a comfortable space to unwind.

How are learners supervised and kept safe?

Safety comes first at High Africa. Our experienced facilitators are trained in safety procedures and first aid suited to the river environment, and learners are supervised throughout every activity.
